What is the eFactor?

The eFactor is a competency model developed by Professor David Gibson OBE in 2005 to enable anyone to adapt, be innovative and make things happen no matter what their background or challenges.

Professor David Gibson with many years of business experience was appointed by Queens University in 2003 to make all graduates no matter what their background capable of creating ideas and making things happen in whatever career path they undertook. He based his model on twenty years as an accountant advising chief executives and business owners to develop their skills to be more successful. He had tremendous success in doing this and noticed there were 8 skills that everyone needed to be more successful in making projects happen.

He worked with a successful Occupational Psychologist to create a rigorous questionnaire that will allow anyone to self assess their skills and weaknesses and draw up a plan to develop their projects and skills level.

Click on the button below and fill out the questionnaire and see how the eFactor can help you.

The 8 key areas / competencies include:

  • Creativity
  • Resilience and Personal Mastery
  • Assertion and Negotiation
  • Personal Marketing
  • Finance
  • Personal Influence
  • Leadership and Team Building
  • Planning your Outcome

This was then taught to over 30,000 students of all disciplines with results measured over ten years.

Over 90% had maintained their eFactor skills and demonstrated great success within their own career path.

It has become a chosen model of learning throughout the world to help entrepreneurs executives and community managers to achieve their goals and make projects happen in the global economy, which was changed for ever by technology. It has been used in over 30 countries and been used to train over 2000 Chinese executives, entrepreneurs and over 3000 trainers/educators to be more successful and winning numerous awards for its impact.

Key features of the program include the opportunity for students to learn the skills, reflect and make changes to their approach and to achieve their goals. It is a complete learning system and the most successful entrepreneurial competence model in the world.

Message from Professor David Gibson OBE

The world of the Entrepreneur

Welcome to my world. The world of the Entrepreneur. I spend most of my waking time lecturing, researching and advising Entrepreneurs. Heck, I may even be an Entrepreneur myself, as I have started and run all sorts of businesses, full and part time, though, admittedly, with a mixed degree of success. What I love doing most of all is learning how anyone performs to their best ability, and passing these lessons on.

Everywhere you go nowadays you are encouraged to be "more enterprising or more innovative". Every billboard screams at you to "go for it!". For what?

The basic message seems to be that we all should become Entrepreneurs, start businesses and live happily ever after. Some of you will want to start your own business; and some of you should never be allowed near a business.  Others will have no desire to go into business, but want to make a difference to their local community or to help their family or friends to achieve their potential.

I believe that anyone can benefit from learning the skills or competencies that make a good Entrepreneur.  Good Entrepreneurs spend their working life dealing with change, spotting opportunities and making things happen.  I don't know whether any of you work in the voluntary sector or in a company, but you will notice that change is the name of the game.  Technology, world events and other factors combine to move the pace of change onwards at an ever increasing rate.

An Entrepreneur can cope with this, because they see change as an opportunity to innovate to survive and grow.  We all need to adopt this mindset, whatever our ambitions or interests in life. For those of you already working as an Entrepreneur, you will know that most training or books focus on giving you useful knowledge about Business and leaving you to it.  My contention is that you need to develop your "efactor", that is work on key traits/habits which give you the best possible chance of dealing with change and being the best you can be.

I feel I have discovered a core set of competencies which most Entrepreneurs have or need to perform to their potential.  Of course, there are exceptions.  Sometimes you get someone who does almost everything wrong but, because of a strong competitive advantage in the marketplace or some other key variable, they manage to make significant profits, at least in the short term.

I have two points I would like to make regarding this. Firstly, improvement in their 'eFactor Competencies' would be more likely to sustain rather than threaten any success they have had to date. Secondly, my definition of Entrepreneur is not restricted to  someone who has made several million and has a Bentley, but rather anyone who identifies a need/opportunity, and takes action to make that project happen, whether for profit or not. I believe that anyone could benefit by improving their "eFactor".  It is the key to personal excellence, an outcome we should all aim for to improve the quality of our own and the lives around us.

Sign Up Now, read this book but, more importantly, practice using the ideas in your everyday life. As a friend once said to me, "use it, don't just read about it, otherwise, what's the point?"

I would love to tell you that the 'eFactor' will change your life but my street wisdom dictates that I tell you the truth. Access the course, practice the ideas in real life, bounce back when they don't always work the first time you try them, keep learning and practising, and then you will succeed!

Go for it!!  And have the good luck all Entrepreneurs create!!!

Regards
David Gibson
